About Lucy
Lucy grew up in the UK, Africa and Hong Kong, experiencing a diverse pace of life and cultures. Moving to Hong Kong at 12 was exciting, and fast-moving and ignited her interest in business, travel and international cuisine. Her early career was spent in the hospitality industry, ranging from assisting Prue Leith, to working on private mega yachts around the world, managing dining rooms for Sir James Ogilvy at Foreign and Colonial, designing food for Marks and Spencer and running her own ‘social-inspired’ café.
… that was in the days before social became social media. Lucy took over madcreative in June 2017 after working as a business consultant and ten years at Faversham Business Partnership, where she developed a 1500-page website/directory for over 200 local businesses. Her remit was to promote the area and help businesses get online at a time when websites were seen as a luxury rather than an essential marketing tool. Social media was in its early stages and promotional techniques relied upon local papers, radio airtime, and promotional stands at events. Her fascination with the internet grew apace with changing technology and she continues to help business owners maximise their online presence and successfully navigate today’s digital channels to succeed in getting their message across on all platforms.
Beginning in May 2023 Lucy spent a year with the London Southeast Enterprise team at NatWest supporting ambitious entrepreneurs and business owners, a welcomed opportunity to be part of a large organisation delivering an ambitious initiative to support SMEs, as the fourth biggest business bank in the UK.
In 2024 Lucy became a Mentor for Digital Boost, providing free mentorship to business owners. In May 2025 she was awarded Most Enthusiastic Mentor.
“Whether you’re having a 1:1 mentoring session, joining her Masterclasses, or even having the pleasure of hearing her talk on stage, everyone agrees, her energy is unmatched.
Everything she does is done with a smile and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this award this year!”
Lucy’s boundless enthusiasm for marketing has developed over many years with her unwavering understanding and ability to see what needs to be done and her know-how.
As quoted here:
“Without marketing, businesses fail to reach customers and expand. It doesn’t need to be complicated. It must be honest, appealing, and considered. Marketing is a business saying ‘Here I am’ and let’s face it, everyone needs to be reminded and nudged into taking action. I know I do.”
