Why Sales fascinate me but I’m not a salesperson.

Don’t ask me to directly sell your products on your behalf or work for commission it won’t interest me, that's because our focus is always on marketing, which leads to a sale.

We work with you to increase awareness and build customer relationships. It’s a long term thing.

Our content marketing is designed to help your customers connect directly with you, your business and enable you to build a strong customer base.

We implement strategies to help your potential customers interact with your business, become aware of your services, engage with your business, and ultimately purchase.

Understanding consumer habits and helping a potential customer on their purchase journey to make contact and buy is the very essence of what we focus on at Madcreative.

The sales journey is made up of four distinct parts, and each bit has its part to play in a sales conversion. Each customer may join the journey at different stages and require less or more time to convert. You are likely to lose some along the way, that’s normal, and to be expected. Unsubscribes aren’t as bad as you may think, at least they recognise what they want and don’t, and you now know they’re not your potential customer for the time-being. (I often unsubscribe from brands after a purchase because I don’t like the incessant emails I receive afterwards.)

Understanding all of this and the why enables you, and us, to make changes to improve the customer pathways.

A high website bounce rate can translate as people coming to your website and leaving quickly because they are frustrated, can’t find what they need or want or they’re not the right audience for your products and services.

Monitoring actions and measuring an outcome is often referred to as a Conversion rate.

ROI is the metric that tells us about the return on investment.

  • In simple terms for each £ spent what was generated in revenue to the business? This is a strong measurement for ad spending with a linked e-commerce website where it's possible to track a direct and more immediate correlation between the two. Or you may equate it to an organic social media budget and perceived value of reach with increased sales attributed from the activity.

It’s worth remembering, not everyone is outwardly vocal in their pursuit of making a purchase. Most customers watch from the sidelines, do their research, and then click and buy without sharing their journey. Others will rely on reviews, and opinions from friends and family or be heavily influenced by visuals and overall cost.

Engagement is often the sought-after metric, but it doesn’t always indicate a potential sale.

Understanding your audience, their habits, and their exact requirements is important in any sales funnel journey, in the pursuit of gently persuading and influencing a potential customer to take the plunge and make contact or purchase your product online.

Reducing friction along the way is essential.

We can do all the hard work to lead a customer to finally want to connect or buy the product/service but that broken link, slow-loading website, complex online shop, or unanswered email or phone call could leave a sale and money on the table. All that hard work and then at the final touchpoint an issue that could send the customer elsewhere, and maybe to your competitor!

We will always advocate online bookings and purchases, where possible, as this makes it easier for transactions to happen outside normal working hours and is less reliant on human interactions, and can be seamless and quick. If this isn't possible for your product and service an easy-to-complete enquiry form that triggers an action can reassure an interested customer, and keep them warm during their business interaction.

How do we achieve the above in real terms?

We work on the four pillars which are Awareness, Interest, Decision, and Action.

We use a combination of elements that together bring about the enquiries / sales you want. We advocate active social, setting up email newsletter campaigns, ensuring the business website is fit for purpose, active networking, and running advertising campaigns for Meta and Google.

We also encourage, where relevant, the use of printed material, attending in-person industry-relevant events, award applications, and broader advertising mediums.

The questions must be, how big do you want to grow and have you got the budget needed to help you get there?
